# Bazaar discovery

> Automatically catalog and search paid HTTP endpoints and MCP tools.

The Bazaar is AutoLayer’s off-chain discovery layer for Stellar x402 resources. Sellers attach the standard discovery extension to payment requirements; after successful settlement, the facilitator validates and catalogs the listing without a separate registration step.

## Resource model

HTTP resources are keyed by URL. MCP tools are keyed by resource URL plus `input.toolName`. Listings retain service name, description, MIME type, tags, x402 version, accepted payment requirements, resource type, validated discovery data and last-update time.

## Integrity boundary

* Cataloging occurs only after successful settlement.
* `@x402/extensions` performs discovery schema extraction.
* Malformed metadata is soft-dropped rather than failing a valid payment.
* `routeTemplate` requires percent-decoding and traversal validation.
* Catalog outcome and reason are returned through `EXTENSION-RESPONSES`.
* The index stays off-chain, avoiding rent and a second per-payment transaction.

## Browse and search

`GET /discovery/resources` provides deterministic filters and offset pagination. `GET /discovery/search` uses PostgreSQL weighted full-text retrieval, rank, freshness tie-breaking, opaque cursors and `partialResults`.

Search quality should be evaluated with a maintained query/relevance set, zero-result rate, click or paid-call outcome, and regression checks when metadata conventions change.

<Warning>Successful payment raises the cost of poisoning but does not prove control of a URL. Add DNS/origin ownership verification before unrestricted public catalog registration.</Warning>
